Christians are called to be Spiritual Eagles
Organized by Rev. Wendell Gibbs
Taken from Sermon Central by Jose Gomez
An eagle has an appearance of confidence in its face.
An eagle adapts to and rules its territory.
An eagle's external conditions do not affect its flight.
Eagles mount up and soar (fly) above storms.
1. Be watchful and vigilant as an eagle.
1 Peter 5:8 "Be sober and vigilant because; your adversary the devil walks about as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour."
2. Be confident and at rest, soar above the storms of life.
Col 3:1-2 "Set your affections on things above, not on things on the earth."
3. Don't let yourself be intimidated by anything or anyone.
11 Tim 1:7 "God hasn't given us a spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind."
4. Be confident when going through a dry season.
Phil 4:19 "God will supply all your needs according to His Riches in Glory."
5. Don't give up - Stand on your faith.
Heb 11:6 "Without faith it is impossible to please God."
6. Adapt and defend the territory that God has given you.
Eph 6:13 "Take unto you the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand on the evil day, and having done all to stand."
7. Trust in God and not in your own understanding.
Prov 3:5-6 and 1 Cor 1:25 "The foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men."
